Mystery Writing

I saw some interesting writing prompts and decided to write this post about them. They are all about mystery. The first one is “A woman asks a writer to write the story of her life. Then she goes missing.” Wow, this is quite a good one, can you imagine what’s going to happen?

The second one is “Murder victims are found buried with some of their wordly goods, Viking style.” I think this should mean ‘their worldly goods’ not ‘wordly goods’. As far as Viking is concerned, it should date back to the 800 AD to 1066. That’s like the late 8th century until the mid-11th century! For this, my imagination goes back to what we mostly see in the Pirates of the Carribean or even older.

In the European history, Northern European and Scandinavian history, Scandinavian Norsemen explored Europe by its seas and rivers for trade, raids, colonization, and conquest.   Think I would include a little mentioned about the Germanic Iron Age. The Viking art style should consist mainly design elements in common with Celtic, Germanic, the later Romanesque and Eastern European art, sharing many influences with each of these traditions.

The final one is my favorite: “Three people close to the murder victim have confessed. Each of them swears they acted alone.” Isn’t it strange? But honestly, I really would want to expand the story for the last prompt. What about you? Which one would be your favorite and what will your story be like?
