This is an interesting sculpture which we saw in the Old Town (somewhere on Skārņu Street between St. Peter’s Church and the Convent Yard. It is of a donkey, a dog, a cat and a cockerel standing on each other’s backs and they are peering through the ‘Iron Curtain’.
It was actually a political monument created by Bremen artist Krista Baumgaertel. Well-known that it is based on a fairy tale by the Grimm Brothers. This was gifted by Riga’s Sister city Bremen in 1990.
I hope to visit the beautiful Jurmala beach resort city in the Summer, hopefully this summer.
